The Genuine Patent Velocipede (1819)

The Genuine Patent Velocipede

We are authorised by the patentee, Mr Johnson, of London, to assure the public, that the velocipede now exhibiting in this town are spurious imitations of the patent ones; and that the exhibitors are very imperfectly skilled in manaeuvering them. Mr Johnson is now in Liverpool, for the express purpose of exhibiting it in its true character and practically exemplifying its amusing, graceful and elegant evolutions. The time and place of exhibitng will be immediately announced by handbills; probably in course of this day.
