The Queen of Holland and the American Anonyma (1869)

The correspondent of the Daily News says the sensation of the Paris ring, on Sunday, was an American Anonyma. She came out to brave the Queen of Holland, whom she heard was to be in the Imperial stand and whom she has her own reasons for not liking. The transatlantic beauty, although she has fourteen horses in her stable, rode from the Parc des Princes in a tricycle with a blue satin cushion and silver mountings, followed by a groom on a bicycle, who took charge of her vehicle while she was making up her book.
