Velocipede Race at Charenton (1868)

There will be great velocipede races at Charenton to-morrow, in which ladies will take part. Sixty-five velocipedes are entered. Among these are not only the bicycles and tricycles which we saw in the Champs Elysees and Bois de Boulogne this summer, but a newly-invented locomotive with four wheels, which is said to be safer, swifter and less fatiguing to the rider than any other.
